How many times per week should I train to lose fat?

Most people get great results with 2–3 strength sessions per week. That’s enough to build muscle, burn fat, and recover properly — while still fitting training around work, family, and life. Our 6-week challenge is built on exactly that structure.

Do I need to lift really heavy weights to get results?

Not at all. The goal isn’t “lifting the heaviest weight,” it’s training at the right level for your body. Getting stronger, leaner, or more toned comes from progressive training, good nutrition, and consistency — not extremes.

What should I eat before and after training?

Keep it simple.

Before: something light with protein + carbs (e.g. yogurt & fruit, eggs on toast).

After: protein (chicken, fish, tofu, or a shake) plus carbs to refuel.

No complicated diets — just balanced choices that fit your lifestyle.

How does semi-private training work?

It’s personal training in a small group of up to 4 people. You still get your own programme and coaching, but with the energy and support of training alongside others. Clients find it more motivating — and more affordable — than 1:1 sessions.

I’ve joined gyms before and stopped. How is this different?

The difference is accountability and structure. At Stable Strength, you’re not left to figure it out alone — you get:

A clear plan to follow.

I’m not fit enough to start… should I wait?

This is one of the most common worries — and the answer is no. Training is scaled to your current level. Many of our clients hadn’t trained in years before starting. The important thing is taking that first step.

Where are you based?

We’re in Oxford, easy to reach from Headington, Cowley, and wider Oxfordshire. Sessions run in our private studio, with free parking available.

How much does it cost?

Your investment depends on how often you want to train. Our 6-week coaching programme is:

£459 – 2 sessions per week (12 sessions total)

£599 – 3 sessions per week (18 sessions total)

Both options include personalised strength & mobility coaching, nutrition guidance, progress check-ins, and accountability in a private small-group setting (max 4 people). Most clients continue beyond the first 6 weeks because they see results and feel the difference.
